Solar Lights for Gardens
Installing mains powered lighting into your garden can be problematic and expensive for the home owner. Firstly you will need to have an outdoor power supply knocked through from inside your home. Once that is done trenches will need to be dug from that supply to the various places in your garden that need lighting. Conduit will need to be laid in those trenches and the cable fed through them so the lights can be connected. The trenches will then need filling and landscaping. Once you’re up and running you will of course need to pay the electricity costs which don’t apply to renewable energy.

There are some great deals out there for solar lighting so not all cheap garden solar lights are bad, but it pays to make sure you know what you’re buying. If there’s a product that’s getting good reviews and has a good specification going cheaper, it may pay to snap it up. On the other hand if you see cheap sets of 10 solar landscape lights going for under £10 on a garage forecourt or certain DIY chains then we advise caution. Always look at the specification, what is the capacity of the rechargeable batteries? How big is the panel? And what is the brightness of the LED bulbs?
